Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) troops deployed under the African Union Support and Stabilization Mission in Somalia (AUSSOM) have been commended for their discipline, resilience, and professionalism during ongoing operations in the Barawe sub-sector.
The praise was delivered by the Commander of UPDF Battle Group 45, Colonel Justus Musenene, during an inspection tour of Forward Operating Bases (FOBs) in the area. The visit was aimed at assessing the troops’ combat readiness, welfare, and overall operational posture as they continue to execute their mandate.
Addressing the soldiers, Colonel Musenene emphasized the importance of unity, cooperation, and comradeship, noting that discipline and teamwork remain central to mission success. He urged the troops to maintain high professional standards throughout the remainder of their tour of duty.

“Keep healthy if you want to serve in the forces for long,” he advised.
