KAMPALA — Eberechi Eze once again proved himself a derby specialist, scoring a brace as Arsenal thumped Tottenham Hotspur 4‑1 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday, sending a clear message in the Premier League title race.

Arsenal dominated the fixture from early on. Eze opened the scoring in the 32nd minute, finishing with composure after a slick build-up. Spurs briefly responded through Randal Kolo Muani, who converted a rare defensive lapse to equalise just two minutes later.

The Gunners regained control after the break. Viktor Gyökeres restored Arsenal’s lead with a curling strike in the 47th minute, before Eze added his second in the 61st minute, extending his incredible record against Spurs to five goals this season. Gyökeres completed the rout with a stoppage-time goal, sealing a comprehensive win.

The victory lifts Arsenal five points clear of Manchester City, who have a game in hand, and reasserts their dominance in the North London Derby. Manager Mikel Arteta praised his team’s composure and balance, saying, “The players showed great focus in a high-pressure fixture and fully deserved the result.”

For Tottenham, the defeat deepens the club’s Premier League woes. Under interim boss Igor Tudor, Spurs remain 16th, just four points above the relegation zone. Analysts highlighted Tottenham’s defensive frailties and lack of creativity in attack as key reasons for the heavy loss.

Eze’s performance continues his reputation as a derby specialist, having scored in every major North London clash this season. Arsenal’s dominance was evident in both attacking fluidity and defensive organisation, making them a formidable side as the title race enters its critical stages.

Player Highlights:

Eze (Arsenal): 9/10 – Two decisive goals and constant attacking threat.

Viktor Gyökeres (Arsenal): 9/10 – Scored twice and troubled Spurs’ defence throughout.

David Raya (Arsenal): 8/10 – Solid and composed in goal, crucial for maintaining control.

Arsenal now look to maintain momentum as they chase their first Premier League title since 2004, while Tottenham faces a challenging task to revive their season and escape relegation worries.
