“Ramadan is a time for compassion, charity and strengthening the bonds that unite our communities,” said Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo Uzeiye as she extended Ramadan support to Muslim communities in different parts of Kampala.
The Manager of the Office of the National Chairman (ONC) Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo has distributed food items to Muslim families in Kyambogo-Banda and Mutungo as part of a community outreach aimed at supporting believers observing the holy month of Ramadan.
Hajjat Namyalo, who also serves as Senior Presidential Advisor on Political Affairs, began the exercise at Masjid Abubakar – Al Swaddiq in Kyambogo-Banda, where she handed over assorted food packages to mosque leaders to assist families during the fasting period.
She later proceeded to Masjid Taqwa in Mutungo Zone Four, delivering similar donations to members of the Muslim community to support them as they observe Ramadan.
Speaking during the handover, she said the initiative was intended to help families break their fast with dignity while promoting unity and compassion within communities.
“Ramadan reminds us of the importance of giving and caring for one another. Through this support, we want families to observe the fasting month with dignity while strengthening community solidarity,” she said.
During the visit, Hajjat Namyalo also encouraged responsible family leadership among men, urging them to marry only the number of wives they can adequately support both materially and emotionally.
“Marriage is a sacred responsibility. Men should marry wives they are able to support emotionally, spiritually and materially. Responsible family leadership builds stronger homes and healthier communities,” she added.
Leaders at the mosques welcomed the donation, describing it as timely support for vulnerable families during the fasting period. Community members said the assistance would help many households observe Ramadan with ease and dignity.
The outreach, Hajjat Namyalo noted, forms part of ongoing efforts by the Office of the National Chairman to promote community welfare and strengthen social values across different communities.
She concluded the visit by urging residents to use the holy month to show kindness to neighbours and promote harmony within families and society.
