Uganda has stepped onto the global tourism stage with a strong presence at the Tourism Plus Expo 2026 taking place in Shanghai from March 29 to 31. The country’s participation, coordinated by the Uganda Embassy in Beijing, aims to position Uganda as a premier tourism and investment destination.
Through a vibrant and culturally rich exhibition pavilion, Uganda is offering visitors an immersive experience of its diverse attractions. Delegates and tourists are engaging with authentic Ugandan products, cultural exhibitions, and live performances from traditional dancers, all showcasing the country’s heritage and hospitality.
Officials at the exhibition say the platform provides an opportunity to deepen tourism and trade cooperation between Uganda and China, while also reaching broader global markets. The exhibition highlights Uganda’s unique wildlife, scenic landscapes, and cultural diversity, key components of its growing tourism sector.
Tourism Plus Expo is one of Asia’s largest tourism industry gatherings, bringing together investors, policymakers, and tourism stakeholders from across the world. Uganda’s participation reflects continued efforts to attract international visitors and investment into the sector, which remains a major contributor to economic growth and job creation.
By presenting its national parks, adventure tourism opportunities, and cultural experiences, Uganda is reinforcing its global brand as the “Pearl of Africa.” Stakeholders believe that showcasing the country at international expos will boost visibility, strengthen partnerships, and increase tourist arrivals.
Uganda continues to promote sustainable and experiential tourism, positioning itself as a destination where visitors can experience nature, culture, and hospitality in one place.
