Kampala — President Yoweri Museveni will address the nation on Saturday, July 4, in a televised broadcast on what State House has described as matters of national importance.
The announcement was made on Wednesday by the Presidential Press Unit (PPU), which said the address will begin at 8pm.
In a statement, the PPU said the President’s address will be broadcast live on major television and radio stations, as well as online platforms.
“The Presidential Press Unit (PPU) wishes to inform the general public that H.E. President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, President of the Republic of Uganda, will address the nation on Saturday, 4th July 2026, at 8:00 p.m. on matters of national importance,” the statement said.
The PPU urged members of the public to follow the broadcast.
The statement did not disclose the specific issues the President is expected to address.
The address comes at a time of heightened public interest in several national matters, although State House has not indicated whether any particular issue will form part of the President’s remarks.
