Kampala is experiencing heightened political activity as the Manager of the Office of the National Chairman (ONC) and Senior Presidential Advisor on Political Affairs, Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo Uzeiye, officially flagged off over 1,000 boda boda riders to mobilise residents ahead of President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni’s swearing-in ceremony scheduled for tomorrow at Kololo Ceremonial Grounds.

The colourful evening event attracted hundreds of supporters, youth mobilisers, and boda boda leaders from across the Kampala Metropolitan area, all pledging active participation in the nationwide mobilisation drive ahead of the high-profile national function.

The riders are expected to operate across various divisions of Kampala and surrounding areas, spreading information about the swearing-in ceremony and encouraging public participation in what has been described as a historic national event.

Speaking during the flag-off, Hajjat Namyalo emphasised that the swearing-in ceremony is a national occasion meant for all Ugandans, regardless of political, religious, or regional affiliations.

She noted that President Museveni’s inauguration represents continuity in leadership and urged citizens to turn up in large numbers to witness the event peacefully at Kololo.

“This is a national function for all Ugandans. We invite everyone to come and be part of this important moment as the President begins another term of leadership,” she said.

Namyalo also commended the boda boda fraternity for their continued role in grassroots mobilisation and community engagement, describing them as a vital force in supporting government programmes and communication efforts at the local level.

Following the flag-off, the riders, dressed in NRM colours and carrying presidential posters, staged a procession through several parts of Kampala, further intensifying mobilisation efforts ahead of the ceremony.

Meanwhile, final preparations at Kololo Ceremonial Grounds are in advanced stages, with security agencies tightening measures and organising access routes as dignitaries, diplomats, and government officials continue to arrive for the event.

The swearing-in ceremony is expected to attract thousands of attendees and mark the official beginning of President Museveni’s new term in office.
