KAMPALA — The Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) has moved its Real Estate Tax Office from its headquarters in Nakawa to RR Pearl Tower One along Yusuf Lule Road in Kampala.
The relocation, which took effect on September 7, is intended to improve access to real estate tax services and enhance service delivery to taxpayers.
According to a public notice issued by URA, the Real Estate Tax Office is now operating from the ninth floor of RR Pearl Tower One, opposite the Ministry of Health headquarters.
URA has urged taxpayers seeking services from the specialised office to take note of the new location.
The move places the Real Estate Tax Office in a prominent commercial building along one of Kampala’s major roads.
RR Pearl Tower One is associated with the Ruparelia Group, a Ugandan business conglomerate with interests in real estate, education, hospitality and financial services.
The relocation comes as the tax authority continues to focus on improving compliance and revenue collection from Uganda’s growing real estate sector.
Real estate taxation covers a wide range of activities involving property ownership, development, rental income and transactions, making the sector an important source of revenue for government.
URA has in recent years sought to bring its services closer to taxpayers and make it easier for businesses and individuals to access specialised tax support.
The authority’s Real Estate Tax Office handles taxpayer services relating to the real estate sector, which has expanded rapidly, particularly in Kampala and other urban areas.
The relocation is therefore expected to provide taxpayers with a more accessible point of contact for real estate-related tax matters.
Taxpayers have been advised to visit the new office at RR Pearl Tower One, 9th Floor, Yusuf Lule Road, when seeking services from the Real Estate Tax Office.
