By Infora Media
Kampala — The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has announced more than 80 job vacancies in a fresh recruitment exercise aimed at strengthening staffing levels across Uganda’s justice sector.
The vacancies, released under External Advert No. 4 of 2026 on Wednesday, span a wide range of professional and administrative roles, offering opportunities to both entry-level and experienced professionals.
The latest hiring drive is part of broader efforts to improve efficiency, reduce case backlog, and support ongoing digital transformation within the judiciary.
Key Positions
According to the Commission, the advertised positions cover critical areas such as communication, finance, engineering, information technology, records management, and court operations.
Some of the notable roles include Principal Communications Officer, Senior Personal Secretary, Accountant, Senior Assistant Accountant, Assistant Accountant, Senior Librarian, and Librarian.
Other vacancies include Civil Engineers and Assistant Engineering Officers (Civil), Systems Administrators and Assistant Systems Administrators, as well as a Multimedia Officer/Senior Graphic Designer.
The Commission is also seeking to fill operational roles that are vital to court processes, including 18 Stenographer Secretaries and 22 Court Clerks/Interpreters.
Additional openings include Office Supervisors, Personal Secretaries, a Court Transcriber, and an Assistant Records Officer.
Officials noted that while some of the positions are newly created, others have been re-advertised following earlier recruitment rounds this year.
The Commission has issued strict guidelines for applicants, emphasizing compliance with the required format.
All applicants must complete the official JSC Application Form 1 of 2021, available on the Commission’s website.
Supporting documents, including a curriculum vitae, passport photograph, and certified academic transcripts, must be combined into a single PDF file before submission.
Applications are to be submitted electronically to the designated email addresses provided for each position. Only typed online submissions will be accepted.
The deadline for applications is midnight on March 23, 2026.
The JSC reiterated that it is an equal opportunity employer and does not charge any fees at any stage of the recruitment process.
Candidates have been warned to be cautious of fraudsters, with the Commission emphasizing that only shortlisted applicants will be contacted.
The recruitment comes at a time when the judiciary is under pressure to improve service delivery amid growing case backlogs and increased demand for justice services.
Experts say the recruitment of court clerks, interpreters, and ICT personnel will play a crucial role in speeding up case handling, improving records management, and enhancing the use of digital systems in courts.
The addition of technical and administrative staff is also expected to strengthen institutional capacity and improve access to justice across the country.
With positions ranging from technical specialists to administrative support roles, the recruitment drive presents a significant opportunity for qualified Ugandans seeking employment in public service.
Interested applicants are encouraged to review the full job descriptions and requirements on the Commission’s official platforms before submitting their applications.
