Kyankwanzi — The President, in his evening address during the ongoing leadership retreat in Kyankwanzi, warned that corruption would not be tolerated within government structures, stressing that individuals involved in such practices were already on notice and would face decisive action.
He emphasized that Members of Parliament and other leaders must uphold integrity in public service, urging them to firmly reject bribery and remain committed to ethical leadership in delivering services to citizens.
The President noted that corruption undermines national transformation efforts and weakens public trust, calling for renewed discipline and accountability among political leaders as the country advances its development agenda.
He also acknowledged contributions from regional partners, including Rt. Hon. Hassan Omar of Kenya’s United Democratic Alliance, who highlighted the importance of overcoming fragmented markets and inconsistent policy frameworks as a key step toward achieving Africa’s broader prosperity and integration goals.
The Head of State further commended the retreat as a vital platform for reflection, ideological grounding, and strengthening commitment to national transformation priorities. He congratulated Members of Parliament upon the successful conclusion of the retreat, noting their engagement in discussions aimed at enhancing governance and service delivery.
