Kampala — The Head of the Office of the National Chairman (ONC), Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo Uzeiye, has praised Kampala University founder, Prof. Badru Kateregga, for his outstanding contribution to education and job creation in Uganda.
Speaking at the 23rd graduation ceremony of Kampala University held in Ggaba, Namyalo described Prof. Kateregga as a visionary entrepreneur whose efforts have significantly strengthened the country’s education sector.
“Professor Kateregga is a true job creator and entrepreneur who has played a key role in building the foundation of education in this country,” she said.
In an emotional reflection, Namyalo revealed that Prof. Kateregga was among the first people to support her financially at the start of her journey. She recounted that the first money she ever earned came after working as a marketeer at Kampala University.
“Professor Kateregga is one of the people who first held my hand. The first money I ever had in my pocket came from him after I worked at Kampala University as a marketeer,” she said.
Addressing the graduates, Namyalo urged them to remain focused and disciplined as they transition into the next phase of life. She emphasized the importance of hard work, integrity, and making the right choices in pursuit of success.
“I urge you to work towards a brighter future and stay on the right path as you look for better opportunities after your graduation,” she advised.
As part of her support to the institution, Namyalo purchased 100 magazines for graduands, a gesture she said was aimed at promoting the university’s continued growth and future progress.
“This is to support the future flow and continued progress of the university,” she noted.
The ceremony attracted hundreds of graduands, parents, and dignitaries, marking another milestone in the university’s contribution to higher education in Uganda.
