The Office of the National Chairman (ONC), under the leadership of Senior Presidential Advisor and Chief Bazzukulu Coordinator Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo, has extended appreciation to President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and expressed gratitude to Ugandans for their participation in the recently concluded presidential elections.
Speaking on behalf of the Bazzukulu, the ONC commended citizens for what it described as a strong reaffirmation of confidence in the National Resistance Movement (NRM), noting the high voter turnout and widespread support for party candidates at all levels of leadership.
According to the statement, the electoral outcome reflects continued public trust in established leadership and national stability. The ONC also acknowledged the role of grassroots mobilization efforts led by its structures across the country during the electoral period.
Looking ahead, attention is now shifting to the presidential swearing-in ceremony scheduled for 12th May 2026 at Kololo Ceremonial Grounds. The event is expected to attract nationwide participation and international attention as Uganda marks the beginning of a new leadership term.
The 2026–2031 term, according to the ONC, presents a renewed opportunity to advance key national priorities, including the implementation of the Fourth National Development Plan (NDP IV), expansion of the Parish Development Model (PDM), and broader socioeconomic transformation aimed at improving household incomes and livelihoods.
The statement further noted Uganda’s recent macroeconomic progress, including steady GDP growth, increased investment inflows, and sustained peace and stability, describing these as foundations for continued development.
The ONC called upon Ugandans from all regions to participate in the upcoming swearing-in ceremony, describing it as a national event symbolizing continuity, unity, and shared purpose.
It reaffirmed its commitment to mobilizing citizens, supporting the implementation of government programmes, and ensuring that development initiatives translate into tangible results for communities across the country.
