KAMPALA — The Senior Presidential Advisor on Political Affairs, Hadijah Namyalo Uzeiye, has issued a public warning distancing herself from fraudulent TikTok accounts impersonating her to scam unsuspecting Ugandans.
In a statement released through the Office of the National Chairman (ONC), Namyalo clarified that she does not own or operate any TikTok account and has no immediate plans to join the platform.
“Members of the public are strongly advised to disregard any content or solicitations coming from such accounts. Do not engage with or send money to anyone claiming to represent SPA Hadijah Namyalo on these platforms,” the statement read.
The warning follows a surge in fake profiles bearing her identity, with scammers reportedly targeting vulnerable individuals by promising access to government-linked financial assistance.
Victims are allegedly asked to send facilitation fees or share personal information under false pretences—claims Namyalo has firmly dismissed.
“These are criminals exploiting people’s trust and desperation. I am not on TikTok, and I do not authorise anyone to collect money on my behalf,” she emphasised.
The ONC has urged the public to remain vigilant and report suspicious accounts to relevant authorities, noting that legitimate government programmes do not require individuals to pay money to access support.
Namyalo further encouraged citizens to verify information through official government communication channels before engaging with online offers.
The incident highlights growing concerns over cyber fraud and identity theft on social media platforms, where public figures are increasingly being impersonated to defraud citizens.
Authorities have been urged to intensify efforts to track down those behind the scams and strengthen public awareness to prevent further exploitation.
