KAMPALA: Excitement filled the grounds of Kampala Parents’ School (KPS) on Wednesday as pupils gathered to welcome the school’s chairman, Dr Sudhir Ruparelia, during his visit to the campus, with many eager to greet him, shake his hand and request his autograph.

The interaction drew enthusiastic crowds of learners, who surrounded the businessman and education investor as he moved around the school. Teachers looked on as pupils took turns exchanging greetings and sharing brief moments with the chairman in an atmosphere marked by excitement and admiration.

The visit highlighted the close relationship between the school’s leadership and its learners, with many pupils describing the opportunity to meet Dr Ruparelia as memorable.

For several learners, the chairman’s visit offered more than a chance for photographs and autographs. It also provided an opportunity to interact with a businessman whose investments have extended across education, hospitality, real estate and other sectors.

Located in Naguru, Kampala Parents’ School is among Uganda’s leading private primary schools. The institution offers both academic and co-curricular programmes designed to support learners’ intellectual, social and leadership development.

The school features modern classrooms, science and ICT laboratories, a library, sports facilities and a range of extracurricular activities aimed at nurturing pupils beyond the classroom.

Over the years, Kampala Parents’ School has consistently posted strong performances in the Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE). In the 2024 examinations, the school again recorded a high number of candidates in Division One, maintaining its reputation as one of Uganda’s top-performing primary schools.

Beyond academics, the school encourages participation in music, sports, debate, leadership programmes and community activities as part of its holistic approach to education.

The warm reception accorded to Dr Ruparelia reflected the enthusiasm of learners during the visit and underscored the importance many schools place on regular interaction between students and institutional leadership.

As pupils returned to their classrooms after the visit, the event remained a talking point across the school, with many describing it as one of the memorable moments of the academic term.
