MUNYONYO, KAMPALA — Speke Resort Munyonyo has reaffirmed its reputation as one of Uganda’s leading conference and hospitality destinations after hosting the induction seminar for Members of the country’s 12th Parliament.

The orientation programme brought together newly elected legislators from across the country to familiarise them with parliamentary procedures, legislative responsibilities, oversight functions, budgeting processes and their representative role before the commencement of the new parliamentary term.

Held at the resort’s modern conference facilities on the shores of Lake Victoria, the seminar provided a setting for lawmakers to engage with parliamentary officials, government institutions and constitutional bodies on matters central to effective service delivery and governance.

The choice of Speke Resort Munyonyo reflects its longstanding reputation for hosting high-profile national, regional and international events, supported by world-class conference infrastructure, accommodation and hospitality services.

Over the years, Speke Resort Munyonyo has become a preferred venue for government meetings, diplomatic engagements, corporate conferences and international summits.

The resort boasts multiple conference halls of varying capacities, advanced audiovisual technology, high-speed internet connectivity and dedicated event management services that enable organisers to host events ranging from small executive meetings to large conventions.

Its strategic location, approximately 13 kilometres from Kampala’s city centre and overlooking Lake Victoria, provides delegates with a peaceful environment conducive to learning, dialogue and networking.

Speaking after the seminar, the resort’s management said it was honoured to host the induction programme and pledged to continue providing facilities that support leadership development and national dialogue.

“We remain committed to providing an environment that fosters learning, collaboration and leadership development. Hosting the induction seminar for Uganda’s 12th Parliament demonstrates the confidence that national institutions continue to place in our conference and hospitality services,” management said.

Beyond conferences, Speke Resort Munyonyo offers luxury accommodation, restaurants serving local and international cuisine, wellness and spa services, swimming pools, sports facilities and landscaped gardens, making it one of Uganda’s leading integrated hospitality destinations.

The resort has previously hosted numerous high-profile events, including international summits, ministerial meetings, corporate retreats and diplomatic gatherings, attracting delegates from across Africa and beyond.

Its proximity to the Munyonyo Commonwealth Resort Convention Centre, one of East Africa’s largest purpose-built conference facilities, further strengthens its position as a key player in Uganda’s meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions (MICE) tourism sector.

Uganda continues to position itself as a regional destination for conference tourism, with investments in hospitality infrastructure playing an important role in attracting international events.

Industry stakeholders say facilities such as Speke Resort Munyonyo contribute significantly to the country’s tourism earnings by supporting business travel, creating employment opportunities and showcasing Uganda’s capacity to host events that meet international standards.

The successful hosting of the induction seminar for the 12th Parliament adds to the resort’s growing portfolio of national assignments and reinforces its role in facilitating dialogue, leadership development and institutional capacity building.

As the new Parliament begins its work, the seminar is expected to equip legislators with the knowledge and practical skills necessary to effectively discharge their constitutional mandate while strengthening the country’s democratic institutions.

For reservations, conferences and other enquiries, guests can contact Speke Resort Munyonyo through its official booking channels or visit its official website for more information.
