The Manager of the Office of the National Chairman (ONC) and Senior Presidential Advisor on Political Affairs, Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo Uzeiye, was among the National Resistance Movement (NRM) mobilisers and party cadres who attended President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni’s swearing-in ceremony for a seventh term at Kololo Independence Grounds on Tuesday.
The ceremony, presided over by Chief Justice Dr. Flavian Zeija, marked the official commencement of Museveni’s new five-year term after he took both the Oath of Allegiance and the Presidential Oath before a large gathering of supporters, government officials, diplomats, and invited guests.
Security was heightened around Kololo and surrounding areas as thousands of supporters filled the venue, creating a highly charged atmosphere characterised by celebrations, chants, and displays of political support.
Namyalo, who has recently led intensified mobilisation activities under ONC structures, was visible at the ceremony engaging with supporters, youth groups, and party officials as the event unfolded.
In the run-up to the swearing-in, she had spearheaded nationwide mobilisation efforts, particularly targeting youth groups and the “Bazzukulu,” calling for broad participation in the national event regardless of political or social background.
As part of the mobilisation drive, Namyalo also flagged off boda boda riders in the Kampala Metropolitan area to support awareness campaigns ahead of the ceremony.
Political observers noted that the strong presence of young supporters at Kololo reflected ongoing mobilisation efforts by various party structures ahead of the inauguration.
Following the swearing-in, President Museveni received official state instruments, including the Constitution, national flag, presidential standard, coat of arms, and public seal, symbolising the formal transfer into his new term of office.
The national anthem was played, followed by a 21-gun salute as the President inspected a military parade, marking the formal start of his seventh administration under the theme “Protecting the Gains.”
Vice President Jessica Alupo, in her remarks, welcomed the new term and acknowledged the transition, describing it as a continuation of government service.
As celebrations continued at Kololo, attention now shifts to the policy direction of the new term, with emphasis expected on governance priorities, service delivery, and national development programmes.
