The Office of the NRM National Chairman (ONC) has contributed Shs10 million to support boxing talent following a corporate fight night held at the International University of East Africa in Kansanga.
The donation was announced by ONC Manager Hadijah Namyalo Uzeiye during the event, which attracted a large crowd of sports enthusiasts and youth.
In the headline bout, Shakib Cham Lutaaya defeated Timothy Sserunjogi, also known as Barista Timo, with a first-round knockout.

Speaking at the event, Ms Namyalo said the contribution is aimed at supporting young people using sports as a pathway for development.
“The Office of the National Chairman is committed to supporting youth who choose to use their talents positively. This support is intended to help you grow your careers and inspire others,” she said.
She also made a personal contribution, awarding $1,000 to Shakib and $500 to Timo in recognition of their performances.
Ms Namyalo called on the government to increase funding towards sports development, noting that many young people have untapped potential.
“We need to invest more in sports to support talent in our communities,” she said.
Mr Sserunjogi thanked Ms Namyalo for supporting young athletes, saying such efforts help uplift talent.

“If more leaders supported youth in this way, many lives would be transformed,” he said.
Shakib also welcomed the support and thanked his supporters, including his wife, Zari Hassan, for her encouragement.

The event was attended by several figures, including Uganda Boxing Federation president Moses Muhangi and musicians Joseph Mayanja and Bebe Cool.
The fight night also featured Uganda National Boxing Team (The Bombers) trial bouts as part of preparations for upcoming international competitions.
