The Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) has renewed three concession agreements with Marasa Africa for the continued operation of Paraa Safari Lodge, Mweya Safari Lodge, and Chobe Safari Lodge, extending the partnership for another 30 years.

The renewed agreements reaffirm the long-standing collaboration between UWA and Marasa, a leading hospitality company in East Africa, aimed at promoting tourism investment, improving visitor experiences, and supporting the sustainable management of Uganda’s protected areas.

The agreements were signed by representatives from both organizations, with Mr. Aswa signing on behalf of Marasa, while UWA Executive Director Dr. James Musinguzi represented the Authority.

UWA said the renewal will strengthen Uganda’s tourism sector by encouraging continued investment in world-class accommodation facilities while supporting conservation efforts in the country’s national parks.

Marasa, a subsidiary of the Madhvani Group, operates luxury safari lodges in some of Uganda’s premier protected areas, offering accommodation and tourism services to both local and international visitors.

The extended partnership is expected to create more employment opportunities, enhance Uganda’s competitiveness as a tourism destination, and contribute to the country’s long-term socio-economic development.

The renewal comes as Uganda continues to promote sustainable tourism as a key driver of economic growth, with wildlife conservation and private sector partnerships playing a central role in expanding the sector.
