As Uganda prepares to host the inaugural East African Trade & Digital Transformation Summit, one of the first business leaders sought out by an international delegation was billionaire entrepreneur Dr. Sudhir Ruparelia.
The Ruparelia Group Chairman hosted officials from Heritage Times of London in Kampala during discussions on Uganda’s investment climate and opportunities for regional business collaboration.
According to delegation leader Moses Selasia, the decision to engage Dr. Ruparelia reflected his status as one of Africa’s most accomplished entrepreneurs and one of Uganda’s biggest private investors.
“It was a great pleasure meeting with Dr. Sudhir Ruparelia,” Selasia said, describing the discussions as productive and insightful.
For more than three decades, Dr. Ruparelia has played a central role in Uganda’s private sector growth through investments in education, real estate, hospitality, insurance, agriculture, media and tourism.
His business experience is expected to complement discussions during the summit, which aims to strengthen regional trade, promote digital transformation and attract new investment into East Africa.
The inaugural East African Trade & Digital Transformation Summit is expected to attract policymakers, investors, technology leaders and business executives from across Africa and beyond to discuss strategies for expanding regional trade, accelerating digital innovation and promoting sustainable economic growth.
